POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION: This is a highly visible position that will serve as an instrumental member within our client's engineering department and will be a key contributor in driving industrial/process engineering activities and lean/continuous improvement initiatives. Our client is seeking an individual who is passionate about process improvement/manufacturing engineering and has high energy, a creative mind, and excellent communication skills (effective working with individuals at all levels).

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Lead Engineering discipline culture from Industrial/Process Engineering perspective:
    • Statistical Start-Up Methodology
    • Process Flow and Visual Management
    • Value Stream Mapping
    • Apply statistics and studies such as, Cpk, Gage R&R studies
    • Process instructions & training documentation
    • Equipment validation support such as Time Studies and Cost analysis (BOM & Routers)
    • Line balance & optimization
  • Kaizen and Continuous Improvement
    • Prioritize Department opportunities
    • Implement methods and line balance improvements
    • Lead cross functional improvement initiatives
    • Drive implementation of cost savings ideas
  • Train Production and Technical support on applicable equipment/processes documentation
  • Investigate and resolve Quality Non-Conformances
  • Perform time studies and manufacturing cell layout improvements
  • Recommend and implement layout improvements for better material flow
  • Support safety related improvements related to flow, WIP staging and reduction

Requirements & Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Process Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of Industrial/Process/Manufacturing Engineering related experience is required
  • Experience working with filling, blending, packaging, and/or automated equipment strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated Continuous Improvement project experience as a leader and facilitator
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PPT
  • Project management experience - team facilitator
  • Problem solving experience or training (8D, Six Sigma, DOE, SPC)
  • Lean manufacturing experience (Visual management, 5S, PDCA)
  • Continuous Improvement experience in Manufacturing Environment
  • Experience in OTC or FDA/regulated controlled environment preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated proficiency using CAD software (AutoCad / Solid Works) highly desirable
