Kicking off corporate catering in a brand new venue, Saz's Catering (a division of Saz's Hospitality Group) seeks a porter to help with a variety of kitchen operations. Part prep cook and part dishwasher, this vital team member will be responsible for a variety of tasks to help keep the kitchen running smoothly. A regular, daytime, Monday-Friday schedule is available for this position.

Functional Tasks: (Additional detail to be provided by training program)
Assist with receiving of product and orders for kitchen areas
Assist with stock rotation and storage of incoming orders
Properly label and date all items
Set up and teardown work station
Complete food prep tasks as assigned
Prepare basic items from recipes written in English or Spanish
Setup and breakdown dishwashing area
Load and unload industrial dish machine
Wash dish items by hand as instructed
Clean interiors and exteriors of equipment
Return all clean items to their correct container and/or location
Clean floors and mats, dishes, equipment and work areas as assigned
Complete assigned tasks within assigned time frame
Understand basic kitchen nomenclature, knife skills and cooking techniques
Educations & Experience:
Previous experience (3-6 months) as a dishwasher or steward is required for this role. Some experience in food preparation helpful but not required.
Essential job functions:
Consistent, timely attendance
Squat, kneel, climb ladders or step stools as needed
Use industrial cleaning chemicals
Grip objects and tools (including wet or slippery items); utilize fine motor skills
Stand or sit up to 12 hours at a time
Lift up to 50 lbs to chest level and up to 30 lbs overhead
Communicate verbally in English
Operate mechanical dish machine, standard sinks, faucets, hose nozzles
Safely navigate kitchen while pushing carts, carrying items, etc. in conditions that may be uneven or wet
Ability to communicate verbally in English
Ability to read English
