Summary

Plans, coordinates, and actively manages the SDLC IT Security delivery plans for complex, cross-functional technical solutions that spans multiple, technical products within the engineering function. Manages the end-to-end plan that is inclusive of all the security changes needed to technical products in support of initiative outcomes. Involve incorporating security into the software development life cycle as it relates to the requirements of the security organization. Focus of the work will set the direction to improve the maturity of the 15 security practices of OWASP SAMM for the software development life cycle.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accountable for aligning one or more large, complex programs consisting of multiple efforts.
  • Reporting and communication of project status for key stakeholders.
  • Makes connections across teams and work streams to drive identification and facilitation of interdependencies.
  • Accountable for defining the program structure and creating a single, unified plan to deliver on the program objectives and reporting those to necessary parties.
  • Drives for clarity on objectives, priorities, and measures to ensure success.
  • Accountable for identifying, assessing, and mitigating program risks and issues, and removing impediments.
  • Solves complex problems; take a new perspective on existing solutions; exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Set Vision: Responsible for product vision and appropriate positioning with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Roadmap: Accountable for the development, acceptance, and communication of the overall roadmap. Define and track important metrics for measure of success.
  • Demand Scoping: Able to partner and participate in cross functional work to solicit key requirements relative to the accountable product.
  • Define the Product: Responsible for start to finish definition of products and product features of varying complexity.
  • Stakeholder Management: Awareness and ability to articulate the product story to a broader audience outside the internal team with additional experience and maturity in the domain. Communicate with customers and partners on product releases and changes.
  • Feature Prioritization: Develop and maintain multiple prioritized backlogs of user stories for implementation according to business value or ROI.
  • Facilitates Ceremonies: Facilitate daily Scrums, Sprint Planning Meetings and Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.
  • Gather Requirements: Participate in cross functional work to solicit key requirements relative to the accountable product.
  • May lead or mentor team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, Cybersecurity or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 9 years of professional experience.
  • 6 - 8 years of program management experience in technology and/or business functions with agile team experience.
  • Experience with project management methodologies & SDLC. Working knowledge of project management / agile tooling.
  • Demonstrated cross functional work in previous experience along with strong organizational skills, communication skills, time management, project management skills, eye for business and high self-awareness/EQ.
  • Knowledge of OWASP SAMM
  • Understands or willing to learn how software is developed, tested, and implemented as well as technical security concepts.
  • Ability to work closely with engineers, product managers and business leaders.
  • Experience managing large scale, cross-functional initiatives using a variety of delivery methodologies (i.e. waterfall, agile, lean, scrum, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to dig into details, learn, ask questions, and become the ""go to expert"" on certain concepts and topics.
  • Leads highly visible multidisciplinary project teams or initiatives; provides thought leadership.
  • Solves unique problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop solutions.
  • Impacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or services; works within general department policies and industry guidelines.
  • Experience building out a agile team and setting the direction.
  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
