Job Description:

Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the performance of general grounds maintenance that includes mowing, watering, fertilizing, pruning, weeding, painting, trimming trees and other tasks to maintain Company property and Troy Links personal property in a well-groomed manner. Transferring inventory to and from external warehouses and retrieving parts and maintenance items from local suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Plants, prunes and maintains trees, shrubs and flowers using hand tools

· Waters trees, shrubs and flowers as needed

· Transports materials to and from external warehouses by operating a pickup truck and trailer

· Removes ground litter from grounds daily

· Drives a vehicle on highways, fields, company ground and other work locations as directed

· Operates light motor equipment

· Maintains vehicles by performing maintenance checks, fuel and oil level, tire pressure, brake fluid levels and other assigned operator maintenance checks

· Observes sanitation regulations when and where applicable; empties trash cans and transports trash to proper receptacles

· Provides general care and maintenance of building as assigned

· Other duties as assigned not excluding work on the plant production line(s)

· Respects the confidentiality of customer and employee information

· Maintains a safe and clean work area and stresses the importance of safety on the job, documenting all on-site employee accidents

· Maintains cooperative working relationships, demonstrates a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees

· Consistently shows ability to recognize and deal with priorities

· Performs all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervision

· Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned

· Does not abuse or take advantage of time off and provides proper advance notice of any absence

· Reports to work on time every day and is prompt in returning to work from daily breaks

· Maintains a well-groomed, professional, appropriate work appearance (ex. Jeans, work boots/tennis shoes, t-shirt) shorts and tank tops not permissible

· Completes paperwork and documentation in an accurate, neat and timely manner

· Performs work duties and responsibilities in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices. (ex. Wears hairnet/beard net, and clean clothes at all times, washes hands when returning to work area, down not wear jewelry, does not have objects in mouth (gum/candy/tobacco/jewelry) while working, does not bring food into plant except in the break room. Refer to Food Safety and Hygiene policy for further clarification.)

· Is knowledgeable of all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures and complies with them at all times

· Maintains time and work effort in the most efficient manner

· Accepts responsibility for outcome of tasks that are delegated

· Is flexible to work hours beyond and/or outside regular scheduled to ensure proper coverage for the position when needed

· Is knowledgeable of all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures and complies with them at all times. Follows all departmental Standard Operating Procedures and reviews them regularly

· Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary

· Ability to lift up to 50lbs, 100lbs occasionally

Qualifications

Education: Current High School Student and further education acceptable

Experience: Previous grounds-keeping or light maintenance work with some experience in operating light motor driven equipment preferred. Training can be offered

License/Certification: Driver’s License required

Recommended work traits:

Some knowledge of the principles of operation of motor equipment sufficient to detect defective operation and to make minor repairs. Some knowledge of the care and safe operation of trucks and light motor driven equipment. Working knowledge of state motor vehicle laws. Considerable knowledge of groups-keeping and simple practices relating to care of lawns, trees, and shrubs. Ability to maintain and make ordinary repairs to machinery and equipment. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the Company.

Physical, Mental and Visual Skills

· Standing, some sitting, walking, stepping over obstacles, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and climbing

· Ability to substantially move wrists, hands, and/or fingers to adjust machine parts andpackaging finished goods

· Ability to lift up to 50lbs

· Must hear well enough to converse on the telephone, must see well enough to read reports and must distinguish colors

· Must comprehend operational reports

· Must read and write English at a High School level. Must be able to communicate ideas and instructions effectively both orally and in writing
