Molding Machine Operator I

Job Description

Set up, operate, and tend molds to create elements for a wide variety of shoes. Coordinate with other departments to ensure machines work properly and accurate run of molds. Keep track of daily output requirements.

• Repair and wax molds for surface imperfections.

• Move and position mold sections using lift tables.

• Brush wax onto mold sections to facilitate removal of elements from molds.

• Lift upper mold sections from lower sections and remove elements.

• Visually inspect elements to ensure quality.

• Hang elements on appropriate racks for baking process.

• Distribute elements to appropriate bins in saw department.

• Accurately cast molds.

• Monitor temperature of molds.

• Monitor pressure gauges of casting machines.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum two years of continuous molding experience.

• Good mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to read precision measuring instruments and learn computer spreadsheets.

• Ability to read and interpret production schedules and issue computer generated reports.

• Must be detail oriented and possess good communication skills as well as time management skills.

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
