POSITION SUMMARYAccomplish the Oneida Nation School System’s objectives by assisting the Education Technology Coordinator in the development, implementation, and support of computer applications to meet the educational goals and instructional needs of the Oneida Nation School System. Ensure that services are provided effectively and efficiently to the Oneida Nation. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Assist with the management of instructional computer applications for the Oneida Nation School System.2. Install and maintain PC hardware and related peripherals.3. Develop long-range and short-range planning for technology implementation.4. Provide first level and second level support by responding to staff having problems using standard computer resources including word processing, spreadsheets, data base, electronic mail, operating systems, browsers, or P.C. Hardware or related peripherals.5. Analyze user needs, assess system or process to fit their needs and make recommendations for system acquisition.6. Identify technology-related educational needs and priorities of the district.7. Administer desktop environment utilizing various management systems.8. Distributes computer supplies to school personnel; and monitors, trains, and assists in computer program set up for the Oneida Nation School System.9. Recommend administrative computer applications for the Oneida Nation School System.10. Provide and coordinate the development of instructional computer applications for teacher in-service and teacher assistance programs.11. Facilitate in-service, distance learning, and other training programs for school personnel on new hardware and software.12. Provide leadership and assistance in the integration of all technology-related educational needs for the School System.13. Build an awareness of potential uses for technology related to curriculum instruction and assessment of all learners.14. Keep the school district updated on new technologies including telecommunications, distance learning, and instructional computer programs.15. Maintain the inventory database of PCs and PC related hardware.16. Keep abreast of new technologies and developments in the IT industry.17. Coordinate with the Oneida Nation MIS Department in developing guidelines and policies for instructional technology issues and uses.18. Coordinate with the Oneida Nation MIS Department in providing technical assistance and operational support to school personnel for distance learning, telecommunications, and computer networking infrastructure.19. Provide instruction on the use of computers and technology.20. Assist in developing district curriculum for core subjects.21. Assist with facilitating and scheduling district assessments; prepares computers, software and files for testing; distributes test results; and assists in interpreting test results.22. Assist in preparing test results for analysis and conclusions.23. Oversee instruction planning and documentation for core subjects as related to technology.24. Prepare mentors to provide technical support for teachers.25. Maintain tracking system for highly qualified teachers.26. Create and submits detailed reports and communications.27. Serve as system administrator assistant for district information systems including maintaining user accounts and rights; oversees data input and management; schedules and provides training and technical support for users; oversees system set-up; provides parent/guarding accounts, rights, and training; and other pertinent responsibilities.28. Attend school sponsored community events such as Family Feast, Parent Meetings, student awards ceremonies, special activities, and Graduation.29. Supervise students in classroom, lunchroom, and outside activities as scheduled.30. Attend meetings and in-service training programs as required.31. Participate in the Oneida Nation Teacher Certification Program.32. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies.33. Adhere to all Tribal Personnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard Operating Procedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies.34. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:1. Frequently sit; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear and walk. Occasionally stand; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.2. Work is generally performed in an office or classroom setting with a moderate noise level.3. A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:1. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.2. Knowledge of computer science and the methods, techniques, practices, and procedures utilized in computer programming.3. Knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of hardware.4. Knowledge of information systems, technologies, and applications.5. Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and/ or Wide Area (WAN) hardware and software.6. Knowledge of computer languages, mainframe languages, and databases.7. Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.8. Knowledge of the principles and practices of educational technology.9. Knowledge of the Oneida community, history, and culture.10. Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and implementing recommendations.11. Skill in presenting and explaining technical information to others.12. Skill in reviewing and interpreting complex technical documents, manual, journals, and instructions.13. Skill in system troubleshooting and problem-solving.14. Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.15. Ability to work extended hours and various work schedules.16. Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.17. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with the individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.18. Ability to isolate system problems quickly and take proper corrective action.19. Ability to comprehend new technology with ease.20. Ability to understand and translate technical terminology and reports into a clear and logical format.21. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.22. Oneida Certification on Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect within ninety (90) days of employment.23. Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters. (Must sign a confidentiality statement prior to employment.)24. Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training.25. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must adhere to the Nation’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.26. Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation in order to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position. A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Tribe's Gaming Division.27. A valid driver’s license or occupational driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance are required. Must obtain a Wisconsin driver’s license or occupational driver’s license within thirty (30) days of employment if applicant has an out-of-state driver’s license. Must be authorized as eligible to operate a Personal vehicle under the Oneida Nation’s Vehicle Driver Certification and Fleet Management Law prior to actual start date. Must maintain driver’s eligibility as a condition of employment.

CompTIA, Microsoft, Novell or Cisco)2. One (1) year administering local area networks.3. Experience in a school setting, providing technology assistance to teachers.4.
