Data Governance Managerin the

Oshkosh, WIarea.

Position Overview:

This role will help drive the strategy, policies, processes and activities of data governance across the enterprise to ensure high data quality exists through the complete life cycle of data. The goal will be to help our company utilize data analytics to generate business value.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Senior Management by comprising resources from the Business and Functional areas and IT businesses and operations functions, to achieve their objectives; resolve issues escalated from the Business and Functional areas' data governance representatives.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality and adoption requirements across the enterprise.
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company's principal data assets.
  • Work with business partners to gather and understand functional requirements, develop complex queries and provide reports.
  • Serve as liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements and data quality are clearly defined, communicated and understood as part of the operational prioritization and planning.
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements.
  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap and framework by including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities, a focus on improvement of data quality standards/principles/metrics/processes and data architecture and provide progress reports of this to management.
  • Develop and maintain inventory of the enterprise data maps, including authoritative systems and owners.
  • Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services.
  • Partner with the Global Information Security Office to ensure the appropriate level of data protection in accordance with the defined data governance framework/model.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or relevant field.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in related discipline.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a major service organization, with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience.
  • Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.
  • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture changes and performance measurement system design.
  • Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders and peers.
  • Exceptional leadership skills such as personal and professional integrity and work ethic, ability to articulate a sense of mission, willingness to take on change, results-oriented and demonstrated ability to manage adversity.
  • Aptitude to manage relationships across the business by developing cooperative working relationships and being a collaborative team player.
  • Highly developed skills in priority setting, breaking down complex problems into manageable goals, and making sound and timely decisions.
  • Experience in developing, coaching, mentoring and recognizing performance for a team all while building trust, respect, and cooperation.
