Support the efforts of the COO to coordinate the organization of special events for the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh, Inc., including Radford Center, The Club and Camp Radford. Provide marketing and other staff support to help promote Club programs and services to the community, and work with the CEO, Board, staff, and volunteers to achieve the desired results, and promote the components of health, wellness and fitness. It is the responsibility of every staff member to cultivate and maintain positive donor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the effort to coordinate and support organizational strategies for marketing, sharing resources most efficiently and coordinating marketing and special events on a year-round basis utilizing a marketing calendar.
  • Maintain key community partnerships, relationships with the media, sponsorships, Club newsletter, publications, press releases, and websites designed to positively promote and market the Club to the community.
  • Promote the area of health, wellness and fitness to our membership.
  • Support special events designed to raise funds and improve community awareness. Examples include, but are not limited to, WineFeast, Afternoon tea, Annual Dinner, Youth of the Year and Turkey Trot.
  • Supports donor relationships as assigned by the COO or on as needed basis.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with Club staff, volunteers, members, supporters, other Clubs, media contacts, consultants and vendors, and other not-for-profit organizations to establish professional links within the community.
  • Write weekly articles, press releases, media alerts, newsletter articles, copy for events, etc. to promote public awareness of the Club in the community.
  • Participate in the development and coordinate implementation of all external marketing and public relations activities to increase the visibility of Club programs, services and activities.
  • Work closely with the COO to develop and maintain a highly visible role in the community, with an emphasis on key partnerships and relationship building to benefit the Club. These might include, but are not limited to, new and existing individual donors, corporate and other business support, private and community foundations, service clubs, alumni, and possible local funding initiatives tied to a corporate relationship to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Office.
  • Handle all aspects of the Club’s public website through the WordPress content management system and keep the design, written content and graphic content up to date.
  • Develops and controls marketing and public relations expenditure against budget. Manage vendors and freelance consultants to ensure timely cost effective delivery of products & service.
  • Manage all of the Club’s social media accounts from posting to advertising including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Manage all aspects of the Club’s e-blast service, Constant Contact, including customizing templates, adding and removing contacts, designing, drafting, and sending emails.
  • Research and write the Club’s award submissions such as MAC awards,
  • Handle promotional material needs; inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Design flyers, brochures, ads, web graphics and other smaller projects in house using Adobe CCS and InDesign.
  • Coordinate and implement all print projects for the Club including marketing and program pieces.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Club’s direct mailing projects from generating mailing lists to having pieces picked up from the printer, stuffed with envelopes, and tabbed for mailing.
  • Mandated child abuse reporter

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred in the area of marketing, development and nonprofit management.
  • Three years proven, successful experience in nonprofit operations, with an emphasis on marketing, management or equivalent experience.
  • Successful experience in carrying out the mission of a nonprofit organization.
  • Strong verbal, written communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with Board, staff, volunteers, donors, community groups, and other agencies.
  • Competency in computer skills including, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Desktop Publishing, database management and website support.
  • Commitment to role model and promote a lifestyle of health, wellness and fitness.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to think clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to go up and down stairs.
