Our growing Food Manufacturing client is looking for a Human Resources Specialist. The Human Resources Specialist provides assistance to the Manawa human resources and operations teams, and supports the entire hourly workforce. This position acts as a liaison between all levels of management and human resource professionals.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a high level of visibility, accessibility and interaction with all employees on all shifts while also assisting site visitors with check-in process.
  • Ensures high level of integrity is maintained and that personnel matters are handled in a professional, consistent, and confidential manner.
  • Assists with new hire orientation preparation and onboarding.
  • Administers employee and visitor badge program.
  • Manages product and monetary donation programs.
  • Supports front end invoicing and purchase order processing.
  • Manages the new hire 30-60-90-day evaluation period program.
  • Maintains filing, verification of employment, mail pick-up and delivery, employee subsidy programs, and varying communication avenues.
  • Source and secure promotional incentive items and meals for Human Resources and Plant initiatives
  • Update and maintain regular plant and steering metric reporting.
  • Supports the development, implementation and consistent application of human resources policies.
  • Promotes a positive work environment for all employees through multiple channels including coordination of employee activities and events.
  • Assists and manages human resources projects at the plant level.
  • Responsible for timely communications of HR memos, programs and policies.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to interact professionally and positively with employees at all levels in the organization
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Workday and/or Kronos experience preferred
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Ability to effectively present information to groups and respond to questions from managers, supervisors and employees
  • Ability to work on multiple, complex projects simultaneously and see them to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects with constant interruptions

Education and Experience:
  • 1+ plus years of related Human Resources or administrative experience preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources or Administrative field preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
