Manufacturing Engineer – Direct Hire – Mid Career to Senior Level ContributorKelly Engineering Resources is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and launch new customer projects. You will develop cost estimates, project plans, manufacturing processes for new customer launches. Successful candidates have transferrable manufacturing skills in any of the following areas: CNC machining, laser cutting, welding or knowledge of material sciences. You will work with sales, production, maintenance, and quality groups as you carry out a responsive engineering effort to gain and process profitable customer orders and exceed customer’s expectations. You will work in operations, improving profitability, efficiency, productivity, and sales volume. Interfaces with the corporate technology departments and other business units.In return, you would be joining a family-owned manufacturer located east of Minneapolis in Wisconsin. Our client offers a culture that shares ideas and a full benefits package including medical, dental, HSA, vacation and sick time.Essential Responsibilities:Develop estimated costs for proposed projects. Provide costs to sales team from beginning to end

Develop and execute a specific phased project plan for each approved application. New customer set up

Develop the process concept, proposal, budget, and timeline for each new job

Coordinate personnel for process and technology development, process design, manufacture, test, documentation, installation, and service.

Assist Sales, Quality and Production on large/critical jobs to determine customer requirements and help launch production programs.

Regularly analyzes services provided for customers to develop new ways to better satisfy customer needs (new/different equipment, alternative work methods, improved quality/service, etc.).

Organizes and participates in Continuous Improvement efforts on production programs.

Understands Process Capability, Statistical Process Control and can apply to large/critical jobs

Designs tooling/work holding for jobs.

Writes technical quality and production procedures.

Assists in the coordination, compilation and analysis of test and inspection reports.

Visits customers at their facilities as needed.

Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications of the Successful Manufacturing EngineerBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related and a minimum of 3 years’ manufacturing experience that includes:

Any mechanical Design using Solidworks with knowledge of AutoCAD, required, tool or fixture design, highly preferred.

Manufacturing process development required

For any of the following operations: CNC Machining, Laser cutting, lamination, die cutting, or welding, a plus

Manufacturing cost estimating, required

Leading interdisciplinary teams for manufacturing projects or launching new customer jobs, required

Experience with project management (cost estimating, budget adherence, timeline development & management, team building), required

Experience with blueprint reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, SPC methods, required

Proficient with MS Office required, project management tools a plus

Demonstrated ability to deliver products that meets the customer's expectations and are within budget.

Able to work independently, with very good verbal and written communication skills.

10% travel

Physical Requirements: Handling and near vision- over 4 hours a day. Lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs., talking, hearing, and working alone 3-5 hours a day. Walking and reading 2-3 hours a day.
