Java Architect/Senior Software Engineer Architect Wauwatosa, WI- remote possible, but Willingness to travel; 10% - 20% is a necessity Contract/Full-time with us Java Architect/Senior Software Engineer Architect Wauwatosa, WI- remote possible, but Willingness to travel; 10% - 20% is a necessity Contract/Full-time with us Purpose of Role: Software Development of Warehouse Control Systems Principal Accountabilities:
- Develop software with Java EE for projects with Dematic standard warehouse control system (Dematic iQ)
- Design and development software solutions according to Dematic established software standards and procedures
- Assist project and technical engineers to integrate the more complex software components into Dematic warehouse systems
- Design and perform software tests using standard Dematic testing framework
- Provide technical support to customers on-site
- Train customers and key-users on installed applications
- Estimate time to complete of new and existing development tasks
- Maintain a good relationships with all internal and external customers, through provision of a high quality service
- Deliver projects and tasks on time and within budget
- Work within an Agile environment
- Lead a value engineering approach to ensure cost efficient solutions are designed that achieve company goals for profit, service and support
- Attend site during software commissioning phases to ensure that integration testing and site acceptance testing is completed as required
- Willingness to travel; 10% - 20% is a necessity
- Other duties as required by the business
- Translate business requirements to technical design documentation
- Write and review customer documentation
- Perform reviews of complex customers' standard specifications and other documentation to determine software development requirements
- Perform presentations of complex technical findings and developments to internal and external customers
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification is expected
- Enthusiasm for software development and innovation
- Structural and methodical problem solving
- At least 3-5 years of industry Java programming experience
- Knowledge of Application Servers (Wildfly, Glassfish)
- Knowledge of Relational Databases (Oracle, SQL)
- Java EE Environment Servlet/JSP EJB (Java Beans)
- GWT (Google Web Toolkit)
- Web services implementation
- Understanding of TCP/IP Socket Communication
- Automated Build Tools: Maven
- Version Control: GIT / Subversion
- IDE: IntelliJ IDEA
- SW Methodologies: Agile / Scrum
- Language skills (German, French, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin)
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
- Knowledge of Automated Intra-logistic processes
- Knowledge of Virtualisation (VMWare etc.)
- Knowledge of Software/Hardware setup

- The post holder will be required to work outside the core business hours. Some weekend work may be required
