Financial Resources Manager Vacancy Announcement

Habitat for Humanity, The Heart of Wyoming (HFHHOW), a not for profit Wyoming Corporation dedicated to affordable housing and an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is seeking an experienced Financial Resources Manager. This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the organization’s fiscal management in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices. This position reports to the Executive Director.

A full position description is attached. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s education and experience. This position is located in Casper, Wyoming and no relocation assistance is available. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and willingness to travel are required.

Description

This position is responsible for managing the organization’s financial operations and the implementation of resource development through grant writing for the organization. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Qualifications

The Financial Resources Manager will have a thorough knowledge of financial operations and possess natural leadership abilities. Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving and technical skills as well as excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail are required. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor including discretion with sensitive information is essential. The ability to do one or more of the following throughout the day is required: stand, walk, sit, bend and reach above/below shoulder level as well as frequent repetitive motions (typing, filing, etc.).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Financial Functions
  • Responsible for overseeing the organizations financial operations, ensuring prudent fiscal management, reporting and controls.
  • Responsible for all accounting functions including timely fiscal reporting, recording financial transactions, reconciling bank statements, monthly financial statements, managing payroll and benefits administration, maintaining class tracking systems, preparing and adjusting entries.
  • Compile financial reports for the Executive Director, Finance Committee, and stakeholders on a monthly basis and compile statistics pertinent to operation of the organization as needed.
  • Assist auditor with year-end reports, records and trial balance for tax return and audit preparation.
  • Serve as an advisor to the Executive Director regarding short and long-term financial planning, forecasts, current performance, adjustments for cost effective operation, and budget preparation.

  • Resource Development Functions
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to establish an annual resource development strategy; oversee implementation of assigned strategy areas.
  • Assist in cultivation and solicitation of prospective corporate, foundation and government grants; assist inforging formalized agency partnerships and collaborations.
  • Lead grant funding procurement as assigned for unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects including application, proposal, budget development, as well as pre- and post-award management including the submission of grant reports for funded projects.
  • Monitors the financial management of grants (budget preparation, budget adjustments, expenditures, evaluations, reports, etc.) for compliance with all funding guidelines as awarded.
  • Collaborate with assigned internal staff and committee members to execute development events.

  • General Responsibilities
  • Ensure professionalism and quality assurance in all financial procedures and processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
  • Leads meetings and workshops to convey, share and/or gather required information to perform functions; give presentations on behalf of the organization when appropriate.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director

Required Education and Experience

This position requires a bachelor’s degree (BS) or higher in accounting, business, or a related field and a minimum of

5 -7 years related financial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful supervisory experience as well as demonstrated independent responsibility for programs or departments is required. Proficiency in QuickBooks is required. Knowledge and experience in non-profit organizations is preferred.
