NOV Mobile Rigs is seeking a Shop Repair/Mechanic to service the Casper, WY area. This position requires experience on air systems, hydraulic systems, and the drawworks on oilfield well servicing rigs.

JOB SUMMARY:

Clean, repair and resurface equipment that has been removed from the field and assist in preparing equipment to go to the field.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare equipment for repairing by pressure washing, blasting, painting, etc.

Check all structural and mechanical components for defects.

Make any necessary repairs and replace broken parts.

Calibrate equipment and paint exterior surfaces.

Assist in training new shop personnel

Provide assistance to others in difficult repair tasks.

Perform other work related tasks as assigned.

Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires Standing 95% of the work day

  • Must be able to use hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools

  • Requires repetitive movements

  • Must be able to climb without complications

  • Requires any and/or all of the following: bending/ stooping/ kneeling/ crouching

  • Must be able to lift to and/or move 50 pounds

  • Requires pushing/pulling

  • Must be able to work in limited spaces

  • Must be able to work in all climates

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Mechanical/Welding background preferred

  • Experience using basic hand tools

  • Knowledge of oil and gas field components a plus

  • Hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting background a plus

  • Knowledge of basic electronics

  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills a plus

  • Willingness to be on call the days that we are scheduled to work
