Job Overview

This candidate will be responsible for fostering and completing services provided by the Smart Construction Department. These services include but are not limited to: GNSS equipment rental and sales; GNSS training; onsite support activities for GNSS equipment rentals and sales; jobsite setup; iMachine demonstrations; drone surveying services; and 3D modeling take off. This candidate will be responsible for building both internal and external sales relationships for the betterment of KEC and Smart Construction.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Promote and complete Smart Construction services to help the customers complete jobs more quickly and efficiently. Be familiar with all tasks required to accomplish this.

  • Develop and maintain complete working knowledge of Topcon Grading Systems and the related Komatsu equipment. Maintain working knowledge of competitive systems and tie in points. Provide training to customers and employees; at least once per year have one 2-day classroom training with a minimum of 6 attendees; have various on-site training sessions throughout the year.

  • Understand customers’ overall equipment and maintenance needs and identify new areas of business opportunity for KEC by teaming with customers, vendors and sales staff in a cradle-to-grave project cycle.

  • Maintain close communication and interaction with Komatsu America and Komatsu Limited in regard to additional features and models on grade control systems.

  • Maintain Smart Construction equipment physical inventory accuracy.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Bachelor of Science degree or 5+ years contract administration preferred.

  • 5+ years construction operations experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 2-3+ years’ experience and knowledge of and GPS Grade Control Products and knowledge of land/construction surveying equipment with the ability to utilize the related equipment.

  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work.
