Opportunity is here. We are DISH. The Broadcast Networks Team is responsible for all aspects of the Broadcast Networks infrastructure including satellite uplink centers, data center and remote site operations. This includes design, fulfilling work requests, responding to incidents, supporting system change requests and project support.

Candidates must be available to work ANY SHIFT, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by the needs of the business.

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
  • Provide Tier 1 and 2 network support
  • Day-to-day monitoring of network operations: configuration, capacity, access, performance and security management.
  • Respond to tickets opened by customers, routine alarms and network issues.
  • Network change management: support modifications, maintenance to complex network systems.
  • Perform fault management and problem resolution in a highly complex, mission critical network environment.
  • Specialized project support for network design and implementation.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure problem resolution and minimize time to restoral.
  • Document and escalate appropriate issues and problems.
  • Recommend and implement procedural changes.
  • Mentor and train new employees.
A successful

Engineer I will have the following:
  • Ability to deal with concurrent problems and issues effectively. Ability to work under a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
  • 3+ years of experience with configuring Cisco network equipment, strong knowledge of IOS.
  • 3+ years of experience with routing and switching concepts and the ability to apply strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems are essential.
  • Functional knowledge of firewalls and load balancing technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong customer service orientation. Able to clearly communicate network issues and the status of efforts to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and must be flexible enough to deal with different technical skill levels, skill sets and highly dynamic work environment and schedules.
  • Self-sufficient with analytical skills requiring little supervision.
  • The capability to creatively approach problems not covered by existing procedures is also important.
  • CCNP or equivalent level certification or experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus
  • Experience with Cisco IOS XR
  • Experience with F5 Load Balancers
  • Experience with Cisco ASA and Checkpoint Firewalls
  • Experience with Juniper Networks equipment
  • Familiarity with Next-generation technologies: SDN (Cisco ACI/NSO, Juniper Contrail/Apstra, VMWare NSX-T), Virtualization/Container architecture and management (Kubernetes, Docker, VMWare Tanzu, Redhat Openshift, Rancher etc)
