Senior Scrum Master (Remote)

We are open to supporting 100% remote work anywhere within the US. ICF’s IT Modernization division is a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, technology department, seeking a Scrum Master to support upcoming needs with our federal customers. The Scrum Master is responsible for leading three 4-6-person development teams, facilitating all scrum ceremonies, and removing team impediments. You will also coordinate with other internal and external development and support teams within a multi-vendor environment. This position is within the context of an Agile team employing the Scaled Agile (SAFe) development framework. Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate scrum ceremonies: daily scrum, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective

Coordinate with other development and support teams to identify, track, and resolve dependencies and issues

Triage and appropriately assign Production Tier II-III incidents; ensure incident tickets are resolved in a timely manner

Help build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgment

Support and educate the Product Owners on scrum methodologies

Prepare metrics and reports related to team velocity and defect rates

Ensure teams meet deadlines for sprint completion, deployments, and all other deliverables

Identify and address impediments and raise awareness to project manager for any risks/issues

Required Skills and Experience

3 or more years of work experience as a scrum master

Experience and comfort in leading agile projects (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and working knowledge of scaled agile methodologies (e.g., SAFe).

Specialized knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) frameworks used to manage risks and issues unique to complex technology projects

Excellent facilitation, communication (written and verbal), and negotiation skills

Ability to communicate difficult sensitive information tactfully

Experience with issue tracking and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence

Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects to meet goals, deliverables, and deadlines

Strong analytical, organizational, and product management skills

Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.

US Citizens or Green Card Holders are required due to federal contract requirements.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of work experience as a scrum master

Experience using 508 testing tools, including JAWS, AMP, and WAVE

Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles and ceremonies

Experience with automated testing using Selenium/Cucumber

Experience working with remote teams
