Position Description

Pearson Virtual Schools values communication practices that keep our employees and customers connected and engaged. The Communications Analyst will be responsible for the management of timely, actionable communications across our organization’s various audiences, providing them with relevant information in support of our schools. The Communications Analyst will work under the direction of the Marketing Communications Manager. This person will also be an integral member of our Communications Council to coordinate the process, timing, and message synergy between key audiences. The ideal candidate will be organized, self-motivated and passionate about coordinating communications across a dynamic organization. It is an exciting time to join the team as we continue to reimagine internal and external communications.

Core Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Build and execute communications plans in support of our business objectives

  • Craft and deploy written and visual communications for key business initiatives tailored to different internal and external stakeholders

  • Partner and collaborate with teams across Pearson Virtual Schoolson the development and execution of communication strategies to school staff

  • Compile, develop, and/or revise content from contributing teams across Virtual Schools in line with the Connections Academy or Pearson style guides for distribution through newsletter or direct email communication

  • Maintain calendar of communications for planned messages to school staff

  • In conjunction with the Marketing Communications Manager, develop and maintain the documented process, governance, and brand pillars for staff messages

  • Create key success measures and use data-driven metrics to refine communications approaches and actions

  • Manage liaison (school communication representatives) permissions and host regular meetings to provide strategic support, training toolkits, and resources to build successful communication strategies for students and families

  • Compile, revise, and reformat content from school communication representatives and other Virtual School teams to post on school home page for students and families

  • Work collaboratively with other key stakeholders, such as Creative Services and Public Relations, to ensure consistency in messaging and communication strategies

  • Assists with maintaining the Pearson Virtual Schools’ and Marketing Department intranet site

  • Support review, reorganization and reimagination of content libraries for customers

  • Develop a bank of Frequently Asked Questions for customer facing teams

  • Assist with managing, maintaining, and promoting the School Stores

The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $45,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.

Qualifications

Required Skills, Experience, and Competencies

  • 2 years of experience in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations and/or Social Media

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism or equivalent

  • Clearly demonstrated writing, editing and storytelling skills with ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences

  • Strong project management capabilities with the ability to pivot and reprioritize based on urgency to situations and events that require timely response or turnaround

  • Exquisite attention to detail; must possess excellent organizational and planning skills

  • Ability to curate high-quality, properly branded, and relevant content while delivering key takeaways in various types of communications across multiple platforms

  • Experience in assessing and interpreting customer and business needs

  • Experience in delivering innovative ideas to improve communications using a data-driven approach

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain positive, productive relationships with colleagues and customers

  • Understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures and an ability to relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds on all levels within the company

  • Understanding of change management within a corporate environment
