JOB TITLE: CNA, UPA Scheduler/Certified Nursing Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Long Term Care Center
REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing
JOB SUMMARY: This position is a shared responsibility between scheduling CNAs, UPAs and working on a Unit as a CNA. The hours devoted each week to the Scheduler portion will be determined by the Director of Nursing and the Unit Managers. The remaining balance of weekly hours will be spent on a Unit working as a CNA in whatever capacity is needed.

CNA SCHEDULER: Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, and the Unit Managers the scheduler will coordinate and ensure that each unit on LTCC is staffed with CNA’s and UPA’s according to budgeted census CNA hours per patient day (HPPD), and resident acuity/clinical needs. This will include replacing call in’s and PTO requests.

C.N.A.: Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, performs hands-on nursing care for the residents within the Cody Regional Health LTCC with emphasis on daily care needs, personal hygiene and cleanliness, grooming and skin care.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Current Wyoming Certified Nursing Assistant certification. A temporary nursing assistant certification may be accepted, but the permanent certification must be obtained prior to the expiration date of the temporary license.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience as a nursing assistant in acute or long-term care preferred. Previous training and/or education in nursing related areas or as a nursing assistant preferred.
SKILLS: Exhibits a special interest in the older adult and others requiring long term care. Has sufficient written and verbal communication skills to understand instructions and complete basic charting functions. Maintains confidentiality. Seeks out and attends educational offerings to maintain necessary clinical skills.
