About the Role:

Role

Responsible for administration of First Bank of Wyoming’s human resources programs. Responsibilities include administration of recruiting, employee relations, payroll, compensation, benefits, safety, training, and culture initiatives.

Position can be located in any of First Bank of Wyoming locations as long as there is space and resources available.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads culture initiatives by facilitating meetings, conducting training, managing group sessions, and acting as a role model for the bank’s culture. Suggests and implements culture practices that promote the bank’s Core Values and promise.
  • Provides counsel to executives, managers and employees on human resources issues and policies with the intent of enhancing employee relations and maximizing company productivity, as well as reducing exposure to legal liabilities.
  • Executes the recruiting and selection activities of the division to identify needed critical skills, employ, place, and/or transfer internal and external managers, professionals, and support staff to ensure adequate staffing levels. Recommends and administers effective recruiting programs. Ensures accurate, updated personnel information is available to other departments and to organizations as required.
  • Ensures division compliance with FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, FMLA, FLSA and other federal, state, and local laws.
  • Administers the Divisions performance feedback program. Ensures managers and employees accurately comply with division requirements.
  • Administers the compensation and payroll administration for the division. Works with compensation consultant to keep up to date on market changes and processes annual merit increases. Communicates annual merit increases to department managers. Assists managers with compensation and STIP questions and provides guidelines and resources. Works with managers when recommending promotions, transfers and/or performance-based merit increases.
  • Assists Senior Management in developing short- and long-term objectives, goals, and strategies. Administers operational plans, policies, and goals which further strategic objectives.
  • Benefit administration. Supports employees with all benefit needs and provides resources. Ensures new hires complete initial benefit enrollment, assist with mid-year changes, ensure employees complete annual open enrollment, and processes FMLA, STD and ADA requests. Complies and completes all safety and wellness initiatives to include Injury for Worker’s compensation claims.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Ensures the effective and efficient implementation of training functions. Oversees new employee orientation sessions, on the job training, refresher, and individual training. Recommends and assists in formulating training programs. Selects or develops training aids such as handbooks, visual aids, and tutorials. Tracks the progress of all staff training through routine tests, observation, and feedback from supervisors; evaluates the effectiveness of the training program.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matter to the appropriate staff and/or leadership.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employee law.
  • Communicates effectively with corporate HR specialist on any and all necessary updates, issues, concerns while collaborating as necessary regarding all HR policies, practices and initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

About You:

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or another related field preferred.
  • One year of human resource experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or other accredited HR accredited certification a plus.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

  • The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
