Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Civil Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Design and plan production for general civil on a wide variety of projects, including utilities, and associated civil engineering activities
  • Perform quantity calculations
  • Prepare specifications and contract documents
  • Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Create detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment systems and collection systems
  • Perform analysis and study-level reports for water and wastewater treatment distribution and collection systems, determine appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection, and work directly with the owner
  • Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager, assist in the management of larger projects or manage smaller projects but project management is not the sole focus of this position

  • Conduct quality control reviews of completed designs

  • Perform construction administration responsibilities for water/wastewater projects

  • Manage the following work elements: day-to-day communication (verbal and written) with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with subconsultants, keep project on schedule and within budget, and keep client satisfied
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

  • 4+ years of experience designing and creating plans and specifications for civil projects

  • PE or ability to obtain

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task

  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
