JOB SUMMARY

Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Effectively interpret and communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
  • Responds to employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints by conducting or facilitating an investigation and providing management with appropriate recommendations to resolve the matter.
  • Facilitates and/or provides training (including new hire orientation) to the workforce. Coordinate transportation and lodging for new hires attending orientation in Casper.
  • Partners with hiring managers to interview, screen, and recruit job applicants to fill job openings.
  • Assist management with job offers to include preparing job offer letters and determining an appropriate offer package.
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding to include new hire paperwork, criminal background screen, drug and alcohol tests, Work Steps, and references.
  • Respond to EEOC, DOL and/or NLRB charges for assigned areas. Work with HR Manager, management, and legal to resolve charges.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Assist managers and supervisors with employee performance management issues and the annual evaluation process.
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve the efficiency of the department and its services performed.
  • Stay informed of and be able to interpret laws and standards dealing with employment law, FMLA, and ADA.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field and/or the equivalent of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • Must have the ability to coach employees and management objectively through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.
  • Must have the ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Must have the ability to research and analyze different type of data information.
  • Must have the ability to make objective recommendations to effectively resolve problems by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation and government law.
  • Good understanding of employment law, FMLA, ADA, OSHA and MSHA regulations.
  • Strong computer skills, to include Microsoft products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft office products, HRIS/ATS Systems.

PREFERRED

  • HR credentials are preferred, or possess the ability and desire to obtain them.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged walking, sitting and standing.
  • Use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
  • Occasional working in elevated position, climbing, bending, stooping and squatting.
  • Safely operate an automobile and maintain a valid Driver’s license.
  • Travel to company facilities, mine sites and customer offices and work sites.
  • Overnight travel required.
