Position Title: Accountant (Entry Level)

Location: Green River, WY

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Compliance with Company Financial Standards
  • Compliance with Sarbanes Oxley/internal controls
  • Payroll processing and management
  • Liaison between payroll and HR functions

Activities:

  • Support site safety initiatives
  • Input and analyze budget data including slide presentations
  • Process and maintain standard cost system data
  • Conduct period end closing activities
  • Research and report variances
  • Compile and analyze month end results
  • Compile and analyze forecasts
  • Maintain capital projects within SAP
  • Maintain fixed asset system within SAP
  • Calculate and analyze unit costs
  • Prepare royalty, severance, and property tax reports
  • Interface with various government agencies
  • Reconcile and maintain applicable general ledger accounts
  • Coordinate audits
  • Act as SAP power user
  • Respond to requests for information from business areas
  • Maintain inventory of auto records
  • Track hours worked, hours paid, sick leave, payroll deductions
  • Major contact for payroll related issues and questions
  • Post timecards for non-exempt employees and prepare adjustments for salaried employees
  • Complete payroll month end close process by posting necessary journal entries to record activity, update account balances
  • Reconcile payroll related balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain Vendor Master Data
  • Input and analyze budget data including slide presentations
  • Process payroll reports to support management and individual areas
  • Support Payroll and Accounts Payable teams as needed
  • Other accounting work as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field from an accredited 4-year institution
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Intermediate MS Office experience
  • Demonstrated learning agility
  • Strong communication and relationship building
  • Must be comfortable in a heavy industry/manufacturing environment
  • Experience with cost accounting, payroll/payroll support, audit, and/or tax/tax support is a plus
