Participates in all aspects of the financial planning & analysis done by the company. Develops financial forecasts using complex financial models and tracks actual results.Uses and establishes financial models to create plans, forecasts, and budgets; with emphasis placed on timely capital project accounting with comparisons to timelines and budgets.Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare general ledger account entries to document business transactions including inventory and cost of goods sold.Administering and developing standard costs, process costing, job costing and variance reporting within the company’s accounting systems.Prepares monthly “flash” (preliminary results) of plant and mine operational results to senior management. Determining daily/weekly inventories and administering regular cost of goods sold reporting. Prepares operational trend analysis comparing actual operating results with prior periods and forecasts. Prepares a variety of other operational reports.Analyses existing processes and activities to advance cost and efficiency improvements.Analyses proposed actions and capital projects to reasonably project the results.
A strong accounting background. CPA credential and a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) background is desirable. Specific experience in mining or another industry using cost accounting is a plus. SAP and or GL reporting software experience is a plus. Proven ability to work well with teams and people in other departments. A Bachelors' degree in accounting, finance or related area.
Proficient skills with Microsoft Office Suite software. A background in financial analysis, particularly cost accounting is preferred.
