Long term community bank is seeking well-qualified Mortgage Loan Officer who will be responsible soliciting and developing a wide variety of residential mortgage loans. This successful loan officer will spend a significant amount of time on outside sales activities cultivating and developing strong referrals sources from realtors and other mortgage referral sources, and clients to provide mortgage solutions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of company products, policies and procedures, and underwriting requirements in addition to bank products and services to ensure we are delivering solutions to the individual and business needs
  • Strong knowledge of real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions
  • Inform prospective and existing customers of BOJH programs, rates, policies, underwriting requirements, and loan procedures
  • Analyze detailed financial and credit data, matching customer needs and developing solutions with an appropriate loan program and level of risk
  • Receive customer applications, quote the rate and points, and complete follow-up activities
  • Develop and maintains a high degree of visibility for BOJH in the marketplace
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as needed and required

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • College degree and 5+ years of mortgage lending origination experience required
  • Experience with FHA, VA, USDA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Non-conforming Jumbo loan products
  • Advanced knowledge of residential mortgage lending, processing, credit analysis and mortgage regulations.
  • Broad knowledge of mortgage loan products, secondary market and underwriting guidelines.
  • Proven sales experience and track record of achievement of sales goals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory mortgage lending requirements.
  • Knowledge of various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite.

Must be in good standing under "The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008" (Safe Act) and must be registered/licensed with the "Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry"; or must be able to be registered under the Safe Act. Must remain in good standing under the Safe Act.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, filing cabinets. Must be able to work in professional office environment with low to moderate office environment noise and distractions.

Physical DemandsThis is a largely sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, sit for long periods of time, stand, squat, kneel, walk, climb stairs, bend, manual dexterity and reach with hands and arms. Position requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Proper lifting techniques are required. This position may occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time exempt position. Regular days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am through 5:00 pm, dependent on branch assignment. Saturday Officer duty as assigned. The employee must work a minimum of 30 hours each week to maintain full time status.

TravelNo travel is expected for this position. Occasional travel between branches or for training may be expected.
