The Portfolio Loan Review Specialist reviews all portfolio commercial loans for accuracy, file compilation, and compliance with Federal Regulations as well as Bank Policy Guidelines. Requests corrections and changes with follow up to insure final loan docs are in full compliance and ready for customer signatures. Completes all loan document reviews, with some direction, for accurate and compliant real estate related loans of the following nature: Purchase Loans, Refinance Loans, HELOCs, Modifications and Renewals/Extensions, TRID.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Maintains proficiency and knowledge of Bank Loan Policies and Federal Compliance guidelines for the different loan types originated by Commercial Lenders.

2. Review loan files for completeness and accuracy. Requests any missing necessary documentation, such as: initial disclosures, appraisal reports, title commitments, flood certifications etc.

3. Reviews and follows up on all outstanding requests to ensure contract documents are complete within established deadlines. Contacts loan processors and/or loan officers to facilitate the verification or acquisition of any missing documentation or information needed to complete loan documents and files.

4. Effectively manages loan pipeline and identifies required conditions/exceptions in order to close loans on time. May need to consult with lender or supervisor to resolve conditions/corrections.

5. Compares renewal and modification loan documents with existing loan in JH to ensure the loan remains consistent throughout the entire term without gaps or unapproved changes.

6. Reviews initial loan documents for supervisor using knowledge of loan regulations, policies and procedures.

7. Reviews final loan documents for loan processors using knowledge of loan regulations, policies and procedures.

8. Communicates with supervisor to obtain guidance for any non-conforming loans to obtain approval to proceed or receive recommended steps to make sure loans meet compliance and regulatory guidelines.

9. Completes required compliance training and performs job functions in compliance with regulatory and governmental standards, guidelines, rules and regulations with all regulatory authorities, federal or state ordinances and administrative regulations and statutes.

10. Keep updated with current and upcoming loan products and loan guidelines.

11. Ability to communicate effectively and work in a fast paced environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines, filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, sit for long periods of time, stand, squat, kneel, walk, climb stairs, bend, manual dexterity and reach with hands and arms. Position requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Proper lifting techniques are required. This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Regular days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am through 5:00 pm. The employee must work a minimum of 30 hours each week to maintain full time status.

Travel

No overnight travel is expected for this position. Occasional travel for training or to another branch may be expected.

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum of one to two years’ experience in loan operations or document preparation or related field is preferred but not required.
