Academy of the Winds is in search of a Lead Lower Elementary Teacher.
AOW is a private, Montessori school. We focus on hands-on, holistic education, individualized to each student.We offer children and teachers the opportunity to learn and teach in an optimal environment.Our classrooms are multi-aged. The Lower Elementary children are aged 6-10. We have a rigorous curriculum, but understand that each child develops differently and we meet them where they are. Academically our children tend to be very advanced. We cover all Wyoming State Standards, but with a realistic/holistic approach. We uphold high standards of behavior for our students, parents, and our staff. AOW is truly a unique place. It is an oasis in the middle of the current, high stress, educational environment. We are looking for the right individual who can join our highly qualified/supportive team. AOW is growing and we need someone who is as eager as we are to change the landscape of education in Fremont County.
Ideal Candidate:❖ Wyoming Certified Teacher (Preferred)❖ Montessori Trained Teacher (Will be required at time of employment. Montessori certification assistance is available and we will train the right candidate)❖ Eager to get back to the heart of teaching❖ Excited to teach all subject areas❖ Have great classroom management skills❖ Open to learning different method of teaching❖ Loves children and takes the time to get to know them❖ Have high expectations for learning❖ Can effectively plan and deliver lessons to individual and small groups of students❖ Is creative❖ Passionate about teaching❖ Plan experiences outside of school for children❖ Good communication skills with children, parents, and staff❖ Professional is attitude and demeanor❖ A team player
