The Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Business at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenure-track position in Accounting at the Assistant Professor rank beginning Fall 2020. We have a preference for scholars active in behavioral judgment and decision making research and teaching interests in Financial Accounting and/or Auditing and Data Analytics, including online courses. Strong candidates with other research interests are also invited to apply.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the strong teaching reputation of the department’s faculty and conduct high-quality peer-reviewed research that is publishable in high-quality journals in Accounting and closely related fields.

The College of Business

The University of Wyoming College of Business (http://www.uwyo.edu/business/) is AACSB accredited and is located in a state-of-the-art, LEED-certified building. The College currently offers undergraduate degrees in business administration, marketing, professional sales, management of human resources, accounting, entrepreneurship, economics and finance. The College offers an MBA, master degrees in accounting, economics, and finance, and Ph.D. degrees in marketing and economics. It is one of 11 member schools of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative College Program. The college recently completed a new strategic plan with goals to advance world-class research, integrate more experiential learning, engage in more stakeholder outreach, expand global connections, and grow online offerings.

The Department of Accounting and Finance offers bachelor and master degrees in each discipline. The Accounting faculty have published in high-quality journals such as Contemporary Accounting Research, Accounting, Organizations and Society, Auditing, Behavioral Research in Accounting, Journal of Accounting Auditing and Finance, JATA, and the Journal of Business Ethics.

Laramie, Wyoming is located in a Rocky Mountain valley in southeast Wyoming at an elevation of 7,200 feet. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Accounting. Interested candidates who are ABD must have completed their dissertation on or before August 26, 2020.
  • Demonstrated potential for research publications in high-quality Accounting journals.

  • Evidence of on-going high-quality research productivity.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.

  • Commitment to Departmental, College, University, and professional service.
