The Prospector Search Engine and Connect sales tools are used by thousands of product developers in the global chemical, life sciences, and performance materials industries every day. We are looking for a talented senior developer to become a member of our team and work on our constantly evolving web-based platform. We are passionate about technology and this position is best suited for a creative, experienced engineer who is interested in coding in multiple stacks and learning something new every day (and then tell the rest of us about it!). You should be able to provide meaningful collaboration and work well within a distributed but tight knit team.

An ideal candidate will have experience in the Microsoft stack but will have worked professionally on at least one other non-Microsoft web framework.

Qualifications:

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years minimum of experience in the software engineering profession with demonstrated success designing and building high-quality, commercial software and SaaS applications

  • Solid understanding of system architecture and experience with distributed systems

  • Experience with relational databases

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Enthusiastic attitude to technology and development

  • Open-minded, result-oriented and eager to overcome challenges

  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps concepts

Preferred Experience

  • React or other modern client-side JavaScript frameworks

  • Clojure or another functional language

  • Three (3) years of experience in C#, ASP.NET, Java or related object-oriented languages

  • Experience building and consuming APIs

  • Elasticsearch / Lucene based search tools

  • CI/CD systems such as Jenkins

Responsibilities

  • Write code that creates our systems and help others to do the same

  • Monitor the status of projects and development efforts

  • Review and evaluate work tools and procedures

  • Identify inefficiencies and problems, and recommend solutions

  • Ensure smooth infrastructure operations through effective design, integration, and use of technology

  • Assist in implementing build structures and continuous integration processes
