Sr Manager, Reliability

Position Overview:

The Senior Manager of Reliability is responsible for maintaining Amcor Rigid Plastic’s (ARP) leadership position in the area of production performance. The Senior Manager of Reliability will make visionary, strategic, and technical recommendations that can innovate manufacturing processes to drive improvement in machine reliability and output. This position will direct and support a team of subject matter experts focused on managing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) in addition to reliability optimization, process optimization and technical support.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Establish ARP TPM strategy and identify and evaluate disruptive technologies to determine suitability for preform production, giving ARP an innovative and competitive advantage
  • Establish and deploy ARP, Business Unit and plant Key Performance Indicators

  • Establish and deploy Preventive Maintenance and TPM standards
  • Lead deployment, implementation and use of SAP PM
  • Provide key thought leadership to ARP and serve as the “go-to person” for technical inquiries in TPM and OEE across ARP
  • Collaborate with Business Units within ARP to develop and establish year-over-year improvement targets aligned with annual operating plans
  • Manage OEE improvement targets, approach and execution
  • Drive sharing of ‘Best in Class’ process from plant to plant

  • Evaluate alternate tooling and equipment suppliers focused on preform production; benchmark alternative suppliers against current ARP equipment
  • Partner with existing OEMs and select new OEMs
  • Review production project requirements and recommend systems focused on optimizing quality, cost to produce and lifecycle costs
  • Review ARP’s installed based, identify and present asset refresh opportunities
  • Monitor ARP’s installed based, identify obsolescence risks and productivity retrofits applicable to existing platforms
  • Participate in ’Footprint’ discussions; investigate scenarios for optimizing ARP plant footprints
  • Provide expert global support to all plants across ARP

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 10 years of experience in analyzing and optimizing reliability, preferably within the packaging or tooling and machinery industry

  • Reliability Engineering Certification (CRE) preferred (ASQ, Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals)
  • Ideally recognized in the industry for reliability enhancement skills and expertise in both blow and injection technology and respective process
  • Possess extensive demonstratable success in optimizing production and managing reliability programs

  • Experience managing, both directly and indirectly, remote employees
  • Demonstrated success supporting an organization from a global level and in a matrix environment
  • Travel up to 80%
