About the Role

The Corporate Accountant II will be employed within the Corporate Accounting department of Glacier Bancorp, Inc. This position entails supporting the Corporate Accounting department’s internal processes and financial reporting, and independently managing a variety of banking and/or accounting related projects. It also provides the technical support needed to accurately prepare time-sensitive financial reports (both internal and external).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support to the preparation and reviewing of the quarterly consolidated financial statements, Forms 10-Q, earnings press release, call reports and related supporting schedules on a quarterly basis.

  • Manage assigned areas of the Company’s corporate accounting department (e.g., BOLI, secondary marketing, etc.).

  • Manage, create and prepare assigned internal management and board reporting.

  • Provide technical support to the research and implementation of new accounting standards and SEC/FDIC regulations.

  • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts and specific accounting and bank-related areas.

  • Manage a variety of banking and accounting projects as assigned.

  • Provide technical support to the preparation and reviewing of the annual report, Form 10-K, and related supporting schedules at year end.

  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of similar or related experience in banking, business/finance, and/or public accounting is required.

  • Banking and/or public accounting experience is preferred.

  • Specialized knowledge of SEC and regulatory reporting for banking industry preferred.

  • Experience with the Silverlake operating systems of Jack Henry and Associates vendor preferred.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • Bachelor degree in business with an accounting major required.

  • CPA preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Expert use of Microsoft Excel. Ability to quickly learn other software products (e.g. Jack Henry, Power point, COGNOS).

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, applicable State and Federal regulations, primarily those of the Financial Accounting Standards Board, Securities and Exchange.

  • Knowledge of Commission, the FDIC, and the Federal Reserve Board and applicable association regulations.

  • Knowledge of activities of financial institutions and the required accounting treatment, internal controls, and reconciliation procedures of those activities.

  • Strong communication skills including verbal and writing skills.

  • Must have the ability to work independently in a professional manner and in a teamwork setting.

  • Must be self motivated, work quickly and accurately, flexible in day-to-day activities, and able to adapt to changing conditions.

  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
