General Purpose and Objective of Position:

The Regional Branch Manager (BM) is a mid-level administrative management position.

The position’s general purpose is to handle a variety of managerial functions concerning the processing of member transactions including both cash and lending transactions. The position provides supervision to the two regional branch locations.

The RBM customarily directs the work of two or more employees; and their recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, disciplinary actions, evaluation, or any other change of status is given particular weight in final determinations by the Chief Executive Officer. The RBM is also responsible for meeting location-specific goals through positive motivation and staff leadership.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position requires that the employee be at least 21-years-old.
  • This position requires that the employee present, upon hire, documentation that meets the requirements of the federal I-9 form.

  • This position requires the employee to hold a valid Wyoming driver’s license, insurable driving record, and the ability to drive for company business.

Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration Requirements:

  • This position prefers the employee to possess an Associate degree from an accredited college/university with emphasis in: business, leadership, finance, accounting, economics, marketing, or other as approved by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • A combination of certifications, formal college, and experience may be substituted for a college degree.

Training Requirements:

  • This position requires that the employee complete or produce all required training and certifications at the beginning of their employment, and on an on-going basis throughout their employment.
  • Each employee is required to attend all new-hire training, certification courses, as well as all on-going scheduled and un-scheduled training and recertification courses.
  • If the employee is assigned as a trainer of a specialized class which requires certification, they must complete all requirements to maintain that certification.

Equipment Requirements:

  • This position is required to use the following company-owned equipment: computer, phone, fax, printer, scanner, copier, laminator, printer, hole punch, CRTs, calculator, debit-card machine, and appropriate PPE.
  • If the employee is required to use any specialty equipment, they will be trained on its safe and appropriate use.

Cognitive/Verbal/Physical Requirements:

  • This position is cognitively and verbally intensive; and requires stamina and endurance that can handle extended periods of: sitting, thinking, concentrating, problem-solving, interacting, and communicating with others, talking (on the phone and in-person), typing, writing, reading, computing, and arithmaticing, as well as, occasionally standing, walking, lifting, for the duration of a work assignment (approximately 95-100% of the workday).
  • This position requires that the employee read, write, type, speak, and expertly comprehend the English language.
  • This position requires shift-flexibility; as shift duration is regularly between eight and ten hours per day and can be extended (depending on the daily workload).

Typical/Potential Environmental Exposures:

  • This position may encounter various indoor or outdoor environments.
  • Most environments are climate-controlled and indoors; however, the employee will be exposed to slick or dry surfaces and/or hot or cold temperatures for outside errands, activities, and events.
  • Environments can also vary in level of stimulation and noise due to fluctuations in customer traffic and activities.

Essential Duties/Functions of the Position:

  • This position requires the employee to guide and assist branch office employees in respect to their duties.
  • This position requires the employee to provide assistance to employees in assessing member needs and contributing to the growth of the credit union.
  • This position requires the employee to maintain highly motivated and professionally trained employees by providing training, coaching, and developmental sessions.
  • This position requires the employee to adequately schedule subordinates, and ensures appropriate daily and weekly hours for staffing coverage.
  • This position requires the employee to monitor expenses for the branch to ensure consistency with the overall strategic plan and budget of the credit union.
  • This position requires the employee to communicate and evaluate policies and procedures for the branch, and also coordinates with other branch managers to ensure consistency between locations.
  • This position requires the employee to ensure that the credit union is adequately staffed with competent team members by recruiting, interviewing, and referring prospective candidates to senior management for hiring.
  • This position requires the employee to support and train all new and existing subordinate team members.
  • This position requires the employee to cultivate a needs-based approach to member service with individual coaching and/or goal-setting, to ensure credit union and individual goals are met while expanding member relations.
  • This position requires the employee to evaluate the job performance of all subordinate employees and recommend salary adjustments.
  • This position requires the employee to ensure the branch is compliant with federal laws and regulations set forth by the NCUA and other regulatory agencies.
  • This position requires the employee to monitor key products and sales within the branch to ensure: profitable and sound business practices for the credit union, a high quality of service for members, and that employees are assessing member needs and maximizing opportunities to present products as appropriate.
  • This position requires the employee to manage the security and safety of the branch, with responsibility to analyzing security and safety policies and procedures, and to alert employees of any changes.
  • This position requires the employee to work with auditors and the Supervisory Committee to ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • This position requires the employee to audit and review new account procedures and policies in compliance with BSA.
  • This position requires the employee to audit and review wire procedures and policies in compliance with BSA.
  • This position requires the employee to complete accurate and timely required BSA documentation in compliance with BSA policies and procedures, to include but not limited to, OFAC, CTR, and SAR.
  • This position requires the employee to monitor office activity including, but not limited to, teller balancing, loans, and new accounts.
  • This position requires the employee to ensure that their supervisor, as well as, the credit union’s Chief Executive Officer are kept fully informed of conditions within the branch, including all important factors influencing operations.
  • This position requires the employee to serve as the vault teller for the branch office in a dual-controlled-manner this includes: verifying cash received, filling teller cash orders, maintaining full vault security, and balancing vault cash daily.
  • This position requires the employee to manage the supply of cash, negotiables, and money orders as needed.
  • This position requires the employee to: supervise the activities of the operations area by assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with transactions and sensitive member relations problems, and explaining policies and procedures to members.
  • This position requires the employee to serve as the IRA Specialist providing assistance to members concerning their IRA needs, offering training to staff regarding IRA products, and ensuring policies are in compliance.
  • This position requires the employee to act as back-up to staff in the credit/debit card departments.
  • This position requires the employee to collaborate with senior management to create and support promotions and strategies to meet the credit union’s goals.
  • This position requires the employee to participate in credit union business development opportunities and community relations activities.
  • This position requires the employee to be the branch contact for current and new affinity relationships, select employee groups, and local businesses.
  • This position requires the employee to perform teller duties as needed to cover branch operational areas.
  • This position requires the employee to exercise the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
  • This position requires the employee to accurately follow all verbal and written instructions.
  • This position requires the employee to interact with colleagues, customers/members, vendors, and other stakeholders professionally, ethically, and in a manner consistent with policy; and with the highest degree of emotionally-intelligent interpersonal-communication skills.
