- Provide instruction and related services as identified on IEPs to students with varying disabilities; ensure all procedural safeguards are followed; provide appropriate instruction to assist IEP students in reaching goals
- Perform all responsibilities for the position as identified in Job Description Teacher-Special Education found on our website; serve as case manager for identified students as per District, State of Wyoming, and Federal rules and regulations
- The purpose of a District Special Education Case Manager's job is to assist in providing FAPE for students who are identified as having a disability by ensuring legal requirements (as per I.D.E.A. and Reauthorization of 1997) are met and accurately documented.
- Work closely with special education teachers to ensure state and federal requirements are met; facilitate initial referrals and evaluation meetings with parents/guardians. Facilitate effective communications with involved parties and implement transitions and outcomes for students with disabilities.
- B.A. or B.S. Degree
- Qualified for a Standard Teaching Certificate as issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board with Exceptional—Generalist K-12 endorsement required and be highly qualified in core subjects is preferred
- Successful teaching/student teaching experience; with experience at the level(s) for which applying preferred
- Successful experience as case manager and multi-categorical resource room teaching experience with inclusion preferred
- Knowledge/Experience in Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
- Self-directed, self-motivated, and goal-oriented highly desirable
- Team oriented; history of professional growth; demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of personalities, settings, teaching staff, and administrators
Qualifications:
Salary: District Salary Schedule – (2019-2020 Base = $48,350.00)
Employment Term: Full-time during 2020-2021 school year – 185 day contract
Beginning Date: 2020-2021 reporting date for new staff – August 13, 2020
