This position is located in the High Desert District, Rawlins, WY. The Rawlins Field Office area is mostly high plains with sagebrush and meadows with brilliant colors.

    Responsibilities

    You will serve as a member of the Minerals and Lands permitting staff and be responsible for administratively processing Notice of Staking (NOSs), Application for Permit to Drill (APD) and associated Right of Ways (ROWs) relating to energy development. You will determine the validity of leases and relationship to Units or Communitization Agreements (CAs), operator bonding requirements and accuracy and completeness of all required documents. You will review and process a variety of other mineral related documents. You will provide advice and adjudicative assistance to technical and administrative staff, mineral applicants, and the public on application precedents relating to public lands and minerals.

    Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary in nature.

    Work Environment: Work is preformed in an office environment.

    Specialized Experience Requirements:

    In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - please be sure to include this information in your resume. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade (GS-04) of the position to be filled.

    To qualify for this position, applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04, OR have 4 years of education leading to a bachelor's degree in any field, OR have an equivalent combination of experience and education. Specialized experience is defined as: using personal computers & office software programs to enter data, complete forms, prepare correspondence, retrieve & sort information from files or records, etc.; reviewing documents for missing information; researching records & files; verifying & maintaining records & files; and answering routine procedural questions.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
