Position Summary:

Reports to the Career Technical Training Manager. Responsible for providing technical skills training and education to students in the assigned program, leading to student certifications, licensures, and/or other credentials required by DOL and API. Accountable for student evaluations, equipment, and supplies. Must work in compliance with government and management directives.

Essential Functions: 1. Provide students with quality career and technical training in a safe, clean, and orderly environment that is well-maintained to support their career readiness for employment. 2. Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits; coordinate with counselors and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training. 3. Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials. 4. Participate in evaluation of student progress (ESP); establish quality goals for students during each evaluation period. 5. Maintain student accountability by documenting class attendance (class periods) daily. 6. Maintain and monitor progress and attendance reports; frequently update individual student progress using center approved course curriculum. 7. Prepare students to enter healthcare training program at local community colleges. 8. Control use of equipment and supplies; make minor repairs; recommend purchases. 9. Provide student with experiences and practices to help them meet each of the ten career success standards. 10. Assist in developing community linkages and work-based learning (WBL) sites for the career and technical training department. 11. Participate in center industry council. 12. Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment. 13. Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff and other center customers. 14. Ensure students learn and practice set behavioral expectations that support employability and social development for career readiness success. 15. Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy. 16. Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions. 17. Maintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices;
