SCOPE OF POSITION

The B Operator is responsible for the day to day operation of the Chemtrade Production facility at Riverton, WY. This employee shall be a safety focused individual and will be highly involved in plant programs aimed at continual improvement, mechanical integrity, and improving the facility’s reliability and efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs duties within parameters set by the A Operator on shift, Operations Supervisor, and /or instructions written in the operations log books.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, adaptability, being a self-starter, ability to learn and good communications skills are essential
  • Follow established operational and safety SOP’s to make Right First Time decisions and elimination of product contamination.
  • Act as an “owner”/operator in a minimum supervision environment to achieve a safe, environmentally sound, and reliable facility operation.
  • Oversee Safe Work permit process to ensure 100% compliance with all permitting including Energy Control compliance (LOTO), all Safe Work and Confined Space procedures, and following all Stop Work and Life Critical programs or procedures.
  • Assists Maintenance Mechanics in the performance of their duties as needed and performs minor maintenance duties if it will not interfere with primary operations duties.
  • Monitor, adjust and document process controls and equipment operation to maintain efficient, reliable operations of the facility.
  • Ensure that the process is operated within the guidelines/limits per procedures.
  • Performs water treatment analyses on the waste heat boilers, cooling towers, and NPDES to ensure they are all within the limits and makes the required chemical adjustments.
  • Participates in reviews of SOP’s and other operational, ISO documents.
  • Ensure that all operations meet or exceed environmental and safety regulations through routine audits, inspection checklists, participation in Incident Investigation root cause analysis and documentation of the operation.
  • Participate in special projects aimed at continual improvement for the safety of employees and visitors, environmental performance, product quality and security of the property within the framework of RC14001 & ISO 9001 standards.
  • Maintain weekly timesheets in accurate format.
  • Follow all plant Rules & Regulations including lack of tardiness and absenteeism.
  • Comply with all plant safety rules such as meet annual plant physical exam requirements, perform tasks utilizing all PPE, maintain and document PPE condition.
  • Follow all plant safety guidelines such as Confined Space, High Work, Management of Change, Hot Work, Operating Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency
  • 2 years experience working in a plant environment performing similar duties is preferred
  • Ability to use computer effectively, Microsoft programs, maintenance management system, e-mail, etc.
  • Must be flexible to work rotating schedules
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer’s literature, P&ID's diagrams or schematics
