ASSOCIATE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

DESCRIPTION

The Associate Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for working with our experienced manufacturing engineer to develop and maintain manufacturing processes and procedures, CNC programs, design work holding fixtures will work to develop and maintain manufacturing processes and procedures, CNC programs, design work holding fixtures. Skills taught, executed, and evaluated are strategic planning for manufacturing, including any research, fixture, tooling design, testing, problem solving, improvements, shop work instruction development and documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up manufacturing processes and write work instructions
  • Troubleshoot manufacturability issues causing nonconforming product.
  • Design testing and manufacturing fixture and gauges.
  • Conduct cost improvement projects
  • Create model and drawing in accordance with standardized project, PDM, and ECN processes.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Engineering Team with the implementation of products, presses and capital equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience in CNC Programing
  • Experience in basic metal cutting machinery, mill, lathe, and surface grinder
  • Experience with CAD and an understanding of GD&T
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to industry trade shows and vendor factories to support production and product development

Communication Proficiency

  • Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a manner that facilitates teamwork.

This position may spend significant time on the manufacturing floor but will also work in an office environment using standard office equipment including computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, this position may be exposed to the manufacturing environment and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in this work environment can be loud.
