We have Human Resource Specialist opportunities across the Pacific and Great Plains area to provide Federal retirement workshops and individual retirement counseling.

Information:

  • Present pre-defined presentation to a group of Federal/USPS employees
  • Answer Federal retirement benefit related questions

  • Provide telephonic individual counseling/assistance with retirement packages

  • Attend up to 3 events (1-3 days) per month

  • On-site preparation of workshop

  • Travel is necessary within your state and/or adjacent states

  • Generous pay schedules will be discussed during interview

  • Training is provided by VALOR Benefit Services

This is an as-needed Independent Contractor position with no benefits. You are responsible for personal taxes and travel expenses.

Job Description

SUMMARY:

This position will work in designated geographical area to represent VALOR Benefit Services LLC by presenting at VALOR sponsored retirement workshops and conducting individual retirement counseling. This may require making contacts with and creating meaningful relationships with agencies, associations and unions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend Workshops and present as scheduled on behalf of the organization.
  • Assist when requested by CHRO to create, update and maintain HR presentation specific to the education of the attendee.

  • Workshops will be conducted year-round with an emphasis between August and February and may be scheduled at other times during the year as requested or needed.

  • Duration of workshops, due to our structure of limited seating, may extend to 2 or possibly 3 days.

  • While attending workshops, provide information/training on HR benefits as well as providing support to advisor in the financial services training.

  • Provide telephonic individual counseling with clients when requested by VALOR which may require administrative action.

  • Provide relations and support to local/regional members and users to improve the image of VALOR.

  • If requested by local/regional leaders to schedule future meetings, provide support and information to appropriate department for scheduling of such events.

  • Work with local/regional affiliates to promote VALOR.

  • Work with government associations, management organizations and unions as requested on behalf of VALOR.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintain up-to-date information regarding HR related matters.
  • Follow directives and policies of VALOR regarding processes, reporting and follow up requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong client and team relationship development skills

  • Computer Skills

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office and Internet Navigation

  • Ability to easily learn other software programs as needed

  • Education and/or Experience

    • High School Diploma

    • Five or more years direct Federal experience in Human Resources

SCHEDULE:

Must be flexible for conducting up to 3 workshops per month. Each workshop may last up to 3 days. The number of workdays vary.

COMPENSATION:

Schedule of fee for completed workshops and counseling services will be presented during the contracting process. This is an independent contractor position, meaning there are no benefits; however, eligible for tax deductions. The selected applicant will be responsible for paying Federal/state/local taxes and travel expenses.
