Your Opportunity

Wenck now a part of Stantec is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (Office Position) for our Maple Plain, Golden Valley or Woodbury, MN offices.

Your Key Responsibilities

Performs routine surveying tasks including operating surveying equipment, operating hand tools and performing equipment maintenance and advanced tasks including performing survey research online and at government facilities, planning and conducting field surveys for engineering design, construction and boundary surveying projects, also, completing calculations for field and office surveying tasks and tracking and submitting project related expenses. Project Land Surveyor will direct field and office operations on a project level and work independently under the supervision of a Senior Land Surveyor.

  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain and monitor compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Provide training and mentoring to technical survey staff and Surveyor 1
  • Interacts directly with clients
  • Prepares proposals, cost estimates
  • Manages all aspects of projects including budget monitoring and billing
  • Supervises survey technicians

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Very good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external clients
  • Very high-level computer proficiency (Civil3d, AutoCad, Coordinate Geometry Software, Microsoft Windows, MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Proficient in modern surveying tools (Trimble Robotics/GPS/Data Collectors Preferred)
  • 4 Years of professional experience
  • Must have passed Fundamentals of Land Surveying Exam
  • Must have passed Principles of Land Surveying Exam
  • Must be licensed in at least one state
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly on telephone
  • Must be able to drive a company vehicle and be insurable

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Indoor (Office Environment) Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting. Noise level varies but generally at levels of conversation. Majority of time spent using a computer/laptop at a workstation and related office equipment. Time spent carrying, reaching, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling up to 9 kilograms / 20 pounds Occasional – 1-33% of shift. Subject to extended periods of sitting; may be required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk short to moderate distances to perform work. Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment if needed.
