Vacutech LLC, the largest private employer in Sheridan, Wyoming, is seeking a Director of Materials to join our expanding team. We are seeking a candidate experienced in supply chain management, who is self-motivated, process oriented, customer service driven, and has an incredible attention to detail. Candidates must have the experience and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking. This position requires working with our manufacturing personnel, CAD designers, sales team, other internal and external project managers and vendors.

What You’ll Do…

Reading and evaluating production schedules, inventory reports and work orders to determine the type, quantity and quality of materials required, available in stock and/or order priority

Confers with various department supervisors to determine overdue material and/or parts and to inform supervisors of material status

Directs purchasing, inventory control, auditing and materials staff to meet the needs of production demands and/or supplier challenges

Evaluates material purchasing, inventory, billable and receiving processes and provides suggested improvements

Continuously review inventory, production schedules and sales requirements to anticipate and prevent delays, and coordinate a recovery plan if necessary

Manage the timely procurement of materials and supplies to meet requirements through the evaluation and improvement of ERP and MRP systems

Ensure accuracy of the system inputs and logic such as supplier scheduling, purchase orders, supplier maintenance, inventory transactions, cycle counting, bill of materials, routers and item masters

Implement inventory strategies that achieve optimal

Strong work ethic and capabilities as a team leader/participant for assigned projects from inception to completion

Manage multiple projects at a time in various stages of manufacturing, installation and completion

Assist sales team with developing a scope of work, invoice and work orders for the project

Report materials status at group meetings to drive progress and to identify and address problems

Work with customers, inspectors and other internal personnel to resolve pre-and post-materials issues

Exemplary problem-solving skills and corrective action implementation

Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of our product lines, product applications and materials needed

Must comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies

Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

Physical Requirements:

Sit and stand for prolonged periods

Frequently stand; walk use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms

What You Need…

College degree from an accredited college or university preferred (Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing)
