POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four Year Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Proficient in PC based spreadsheet and word processing applications

  • Planning and organizational skills and the ability to work with multiple priority projects at the detail level

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Prepare various monthly journal entries for the mine that are necessary to reflect the results of operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Act as coordinator of general ledger activity for the mine and make all journal entries.

  • Account for fixed asset activity on a monthly basis by reconciling property registers to the general ledger, preparing and submitting property tax declarations, track and prepare periodic fixed assets inventories and maintain the Fixed Asset and Capital Projects System to ensure that complete and accurate property records are provided monthly for the mine.

  • Assist in preparing monthly profit forecasts for the mine and prepare operating and capital budgets.

  • Assist the Controller with various cost analysis projects that are required by mine management in order to make key mine operating decisions.
