OverviewFairview Health Services is looking for a Cook on the Lakes Campus in Wyoming, Minnesota.Basics of this job include:
Food Preparation
Handle and prepare food in safe manner following HACCP standardized operating procedures
Sanitizes equipment and work area per assigned schedules and designated procedure.
Washes and sanitizes pot/pans, dishes, and utensils as needed
Takes responsibility for self and others in work areas
Serves customers in cafeteria as needed.
Demonstrates ability to provided care of service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences as population served.
Nutrition Services staff directly influences the patient, guest, and staff experience by preparing and serving the food that sustains everyone through their healing or their work. There is great opportunity to engage directly with patients and/or staff, and an opportunity to work together on a team of engaged employees.There are day, evening and night shifts available where there are casual positions with no guaranteed hours all the way up to full time hours.Responsibilities/Job DescriptionResponsibilites include:
Prepares food products to meet temperature and quality standards.
Follows standardized recipes weighing and measuring ingredients to assure products are consistent in quality and nutritional value.
Uses correct portioning utensils.
Assemble food within appropriate time frames.
Prepares bakery items per standardized recipes.
Develops and tests recipes as directed.
Completes all documentation related to production
Wears gloves when preparing and serving food
Presents food on appropriate dishware in attractive manner per department standards.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Previous food service experience
Preferred Qualifications:
High School diploma / G.E.D
Minnesota food safety and sanitation certificate
Experience with modified diets
One to three years commercial food service experience
