    Duties

    Summary

    Temporary positions not-to-exceed 1039 regular hours in a service year may be terminated sooner or extended depending on management needs.

    The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is May-October, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: 4/26/20

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain Chain of Custody for all revenue received in the Central Fees office.
    • Use Point-of-Sale software (or similar) to balance revenue with shift reports. Research and troubleshoot problems as necessary.
    • Print reports and prepare remittance documents. Deposit revenue via computer-based system.

    • Prepare funds for pickup by armored car contractor.
    • Effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, park staff, and external customers.

    • This position has a mixed work schedule based on the varying workload, and your work schedule is subject to change from part-time to full-time to on-call as workload dictates.

    Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount o qualified specialized experience.

    To qualify for this position at the GS-05 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

    EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: experience with detailed cash processing, bank procedures for large deposits, recognizing counterfeit currency and proper check endorsements, working in a secure area under constant camera surveillance, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, databases, networked programs and electronic cash counting equipment, receiving and tracking deliveries in a fast paced work group. In addition, the incumbent must be knowledgeable of fee collection procedures and requirements on fund accountability, entrance and campground station operations, and financial controls to prevent fraud, waste and abuse of public monies. . You must include hours per week worked.

    -OR-EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least four years of education above the high school level. If you select this response, you MUST include transcripts. One full year of undergraduate study is considered to be the number determined by your school. If this information is not available, use 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours for one year. You must include transcripts.

    -OR-

    Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. For example, I have 6 months of specialized experience such as described above, (50% of the required specialized experience) and I have 90 semester hours of appropriate undergraduate study (50% of the undergraduate study as described above). Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. You must include transcripts.

    Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    You must include months, years and hours per week worked to receive credit for your work and/or volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies".

    Education

    To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

    If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

    Physical Demands: The work is mostly sedentary. Walking, bending and carrying large boxes, crates and bags will be required.

    Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office setting under camera surveillance. The fee office is secured with limited access. Daily tasks require two people present at all times.

    WORK SCHEDULES: The work schedule may be full-time, 40 hours per week or part-time up to 32 hours per week, depending on work levels and operational needs.
