Your responsibilities will include: assist with ranger station operations at the Bridge Bay Ranger Station in the Lake District of Yellowstone National Park which includes the collection of fees, issue backcountry, fishing and boating permits, provide visitor information, safety information and weather advisories over marine band radio (60%); assist with emergency services operations including ambulance operations, structural fire, search and rescue and visitor assistance, and maintain emergency services equipment and vehicles (20%); assist with front and backcountry resource management operations, provide assistance at wildlife jams, provide exotic plant management, patrol and clear backcountry trails and assist with boat/marine operations, (10%); other outdoor work projects and duties as assigned and participate in area and park wide training, (10%). This position is not eligible for an AmeriCorps Education Award.

Compensation amounts:

- $1,100 - one time RT travel allowance

- $85 - weekly living allowance

  • $40 reimburseable funding for additional SCA fleece
  • All allowances subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes

    Lake District is located on the eastside of Yellowstone National Park. The closest large town is Cody, WY a distance of 83 miles where all services and amenities are available.
