Find your future with us.Boeing Defense Space and Security seeks a Systems Engineer to join our team in El Segundo or Seal Beach, California.The Ground Engineering & Operations organization designs and develops ground hardware and software solutions for our customers’ on-orbit satellite missions. We service Commercial, International, and U.S.-Government customers with Mission Management, C2, Data Management & Analytics, and Processing, Target ID, & Custody.Position Responsibilities:

Participate in plan, design, develop, and verification of system solutions.

Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.

Perform analyses to optimize total System of Systems or system architecture and for affordability, safety, reliability (FMEA), maintainability, availability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance, system safety, and other quality factors into a preferred configuration for mission success.

Develop, maintain, and identify improvements the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management, and technology readiness assessment processes.

Implement Verification and Validation of system requirements with proper flow down and traceability for system, hardware, and software components to include verification, validation, test plans and schedules, procedures and documentation, execution, and requirements closeout.

Support interface development, documentation, compliance, and system integration across hardware and software domains to ensure system success with ground segment.

Provide operations support with logistics, supportability, and sustainment or maintenance, including operator training and transition procedures, plans, and documentation.

Support multiple Agile Teams.

Collaborate with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment to develop system and software build content release.

Utilize JIRA and Confluence to assist with stakeholder needs analysis, technical measure definition, requirements analysis and allocation, definition for subcontractors.

To meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite. The senior position (level 6) is performed in Seal Beach, CA. The preferred location for the lead position (levels 4 and 5) is El Segundo CA.Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.This position requires an active U.S. TS/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) :

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) :

Current Counter-Intelligence polygraph (CIP).

Typical Education & Experience :Lead (level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Lead (level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Senior (level 6): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation :Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
