Position Summary
Qwest Engineering is hiring Grading Laborers for the Alveare Parkway construction project. This position is open to all qualified applicants; however, preference will be given to individuals meeting HUD Section 3 Worker or Targeted Section 3 Worker criteria, including low-income individuals, residents of public housing, or residents living within the project area.
The role supports earthwork, excavation, grading operations, and general labor activities on a large civil construction project in Los Angeles.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with grading, cut-and-fill, excavation, and site preparation
Spot and support heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, scrapers, and haul trucks
Install jobsite fencing, barriers, trench protection, and signage
Perform site cleanup, trench digging, and compaction preparation
Handle materials, tools, and safety equipment
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all Qwest and Cal/OSHA procedures
Work outdoors in varying conditions including heat, dust, and uneven terrain
Minimum Qualifications
Prior construction or labor experience is helpful but not required
Ability to work around heavy machinery safely
Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods
Must complete site safety orientation
Reliable transportation or ability to access the jobsite
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in grading, dirt work, or civil construction OSHA 10 certification
Ability to assist with grade checking or layout
Work Schedule & Pay
' Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday, overtime as needed
' Pay: LOS ANGELES prevailing wage — Laborer Group classification

Benefits: Weekly pay, opportunity for continued placement on future Qwest projects
