Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are offering a contract for an Accounts Payable Clerk position in Modesto, California. This role is based within the retail industry, and will involve a range of responsibilities, from processing checks to resolving Accounts Payable issues. Responsibilities: Analyzing invoice expenses and charging them to accounts and cost centers Ensuring accurate and efficient input of invoices, checks, and other documents Verifying and posting transactions to maintain accounting ledgers Resolving purchase orders, contract invoices or payment discrepancies and maintaining documentation Ensuring invoices are charging applicable sales tax and maintaining invoices for quarterly sales tax report Managing department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it daily Providing support within the accounting team, as required Reconciling monthly vendor statements and shipping vendors/statements Handling daily customer deposits and weekly cash reconciliation Managing the verification and mailing process of checks Maintaining company vehicle lists and registrations Processing customer credit applications accurately and efficiently Maintaining accurate customer credit records.
