About the Position:
Cypress Water Services, Inc. is seeking a dependable General Laborer to join our field operations team. This is a hands-on, labor-intensive position involving digging, trenching, lifting, and assisting with water system maintenance and construction. Work is primarily outdoors and may include job sites throughout Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz, and Santa Clara counties.
This position begins as temporary with strong potential to transition into a full-time, long-term role for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Perform physical labor such as digging trenches, backfilling, compacting soil, and loading/unloading materials
Assist operators and technicians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of water lines, valves, and equipment
Operate and maintain basic hand tools, shovels, and power tools
Keep job sites organized, safe, and free of debris
Follow directions and work as part of a small, efficient team
Qualifications:
Must be physically capable of performing strenuous labor in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, dirt, mud, etc.)
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred, but not required
English proficiency preferred, but not required
Construction, plumbing, or utility experience a plus
Compensation:
$25.00 per hour
Overtime opportunities
Path to full-time employment with benefits (health, dental, paid time off, etc.)
Schedule:
Monday through Friday (occasional weekends as needed)
8-hour shifts, typical start time 7:00 a.m.
