Seeking live-in male or female caregiver with loving personality to assist our 94-year-old father with activities of daily living. We will provide room and board in his 2 bedroom/2-bath single-story condominium in Huntington Beach, 1 mile from the ocean, plus $1,800/month.
Caregiver Duties Include:
Assist with personal care including toiletry (occasionally helping with catheterization), showering, grooming, dressing, cooking.
Assist with mobility by helping Client in and out of bed, in and out of chairs or wheelchair and walking.
Prepare meals and assist Client with eating.
Follow a prescribed healthcare plan and adjust as needed; assist with range of motion, daily exercises and administering and tracking medications.
Ensure Client’s home is organized according to his needs and safety measures are in place.
Assist with laundry and light housework. Housecleaner will be provided once per month for deeper cleaning.
Responsible for shopping for groceries for Client and Caregiver (Client will pay for groceries).
Provide companionship and encouragement to Client.
Monitor and chart changes in health, behavior, and needs to family members.
Excellent hygiene and safety protocols must be followed by Caregiver to ensure health and safety of Client
Qualities Necessary:
CNA license preferred, but not required
Prior Caregiving experience preferred
Positive and compassionate personality
Comfortable with multitasking
CA Driver’s License
English Speaking
Non-smoker & No pets
References required
Caregiver will have 4 hours off each weekday afternoon and 4 hours off on some weekend days. There will be plenty of downtime as Client enjoys TV and naps. Caregiver will live in Client’s home rent free, without having to pay utilities or internet. Most groceries will be provided. Home is located one mile from the beach in a safe and quiet community.
