Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Service Tech and Installer to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and related mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, field service experience, and the ability to interpret schematics and HVAC design plans. A valid driver’s license is required, along with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment such as ammonia refrigeration systems.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to ensure accurate installation and service.
Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, appliances, and property systems to ensure optimal operation.
Conduct equipment repair using appropriate tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools.
Diagnose mechanical issues related to HVAC/R systems using technical knowledge of refrigeration cycles, plumbing connections, and electrical components.
Assist with system start-up procedures and ensure compliance with safety standards during installation or repair projects.
Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for client records and warranty purposes.
Operate various power tools and specialized equipment safely in accordance with company policies.
Support property maintenance tasks as needed to ensure overall building functionality.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician or Installer with a strong background in HVAC/R systems.
Knowledge of construction practices related to system installation and repair.
Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration processes including ammonia refrigeration if applicable.
Mechanical knowledge related to appliance repair, equipment maintenance, welding, boiler operation, and general property upkeep.
Field service experience demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot effectively in diverse environments.
Ability to read technical diagrams accurately and apply that knowledge during installations or repairs.
Valid driver’s license is required; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory.
Additional skills such as experience with mechanical systems (air conditioning, boilers), use of ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics, welding skills for repairs are highly desirable.
