Ace Sports Coating, one of San Diego’s leading sport-surface and specialty painting contractors, is hiring apprentices, experienced painters, and foremen to join our crew. Full/part time. No Experience necessary for right person. Compensation based on experience. Must have reliable transportation.

Painter Prepper / Apprentice
Pay Range: $20–$22 per hour
Role Summary:
You’ll assist with preparing and coating athletic surfaces—primarily tennis and pickleball courts—and support the lead painter and crew leader while maintaining a clean, safe, efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
Help with daily setup and cleanup
Assist in surface preparation: cleaning, scraping, sanding, masking, taping, patching, caulking
Support application of coatings on courts and surrounding surfaces
Contribute to a positive, safety-driven work environment
Read and follow work orders and safety guidelines
Keep equipment clean, maintained, and properly stored
Requirements:
Willing to learn prep, painting, and equipment operation
Able to paint using brush and roller after training
Able to lift and carry 100 lbs (coatings, tools, materials)
Fit for repetitive bending, reaching, and physical prep work
Able to use respirators when required
Legal to work in the U.S. with proper documentation
Reliable, coachable, and safety-focused
Painters
Pay Range: $22–$25 per hour
Role Summary:
You’ll carry out surface prep and paint/coating application with minimal supervision, supporting the foreman and maintaining high-quality results on every project.
Responsibilities:
Deliver consistent, professional-level prep and painting
Maintain a clean, organized job site
Follow all safety procedures and read work orders thoroughly
Handle brush, roller, and sprayer work confidently
Improve pace, accuracy, and efficiency over time
Train apprentices/preppers when needed
Requirements:
Skilled with brushes, rollers, sprayers, and standard prep tools
Strong prep abilities: scraping, sanding, masking, patching, caulking, cleaning
Able to paint surfaces—including lines, edges, doors, structural trim, etc.—without supervision
Understanding of coatings, materials, and durability/weather considerations
Positive attitude and ability to follow company standards
Legal to work in the U.S. with proper documentation
Foreman / Crew Leader
Pay Range: $26–$35 per hour + Bonuses
Role Summary
You’ll lead a crew through complete project execution—surface prep, coating, sport-line layout, and finishing—while keeping jobs on schedule, on budget, and up to Ace Sports Coating’s quality standards.
Responsibilities:
All responsibilities of Painter
Supervise and participate in prep and coating work
Keep production on time and on budget
Uphold safe work practices, attend required safety training
Coach team members on techniques and standards
Requirements:
Proven residential and/or commercial production experience
Proficient with all necessary equipment
Proficient in brushing, rolling, and spraying to industry standards
English required; bilingual preferred
Strong leadership and communication skills
Legal to work in the U.S. with proper documentation
